Berlin, March 17-18, 2008

organized and supported by: DFG Research Center MATHEON,
Weierstraß-Institut für Angewandte Analysis und Stochastik,
organizers:    D. Knees, WIAS
C. Kraus , WIAS
A. Mielke , WIAS/Matheon

The goal of the workshop is to intensify the collaboration between the Interdisciplinary Centre for Mathematical and Computational Modelling (ICM), Warsaw University, and the MATHEON and WIAS, Berlin.
The workshop shall bring together experts in the fields

  • phase transitions and multi–functional materials
  • local and nonlocal phase field models, sharp interface models
  • multiscale modeling and homogenization
  • flow and propagation processes e.g. in thin films
  • nano and optoelectronics
The workshop is funded by the DFG research center Matheon: Mathematics for Key Technologies and by WIAS.

The workshop takes place at WIAS, Mohrenstr. 39, 10117 Berlin, Germany.
