The international workshop on Variational Multiscale Methods and Stabilized Finite Elements (VMS)
aims to bring together researchers from these two fields to exchange their most recent ideas and research findings.
These computational methods, originally developed in the context of the
numerical simulation of fluid flows,
have demonstrated an enormous potential for a wide variety of problems.
As already practiced in the preceeding meetings, the topics are not restricted to those from the traditional title of the workshop.

- Stable discretization and resolution techniques of evolution problems.
- Impact of Stabilized Methods in Optimal Control problems.

The workshop will take place at the Weierstrass Institute (WIAS), which is located in a historic building in the center of Berlin.Facilities
The talks will be held in the lecture room ESH (ground floor). The room is equipped with a blackboard, a projector and a computer. Internet access will be available via eduroam.Transportation
