Iris Runge Program
Under the umbrella of the Iris Runge Program, various gender equality measures at WIAS are bundled to promote the career development of female scientists and to enable them to remain in science.
The Female Master Students Program encourages female students of the Berlin universities to pursue a career in mathematics. The students receive a contract as student assistant for one year. In the first half-year they participate in a challenging research project at WIAS. In the second one they have the opportunity to work with and be supported by employees of the WIAS to write their master's thesis in that area.
The Iris Runge Postdoc Program aims to promote women in math on their career path after their doctorate. Its goal is to support female scientists in their early postdoc phase in developing their individual research profile on their career path towards renowend scientists. It is intended for postdocs in the early stage up to three years after completing their doctorate. WIAS offers a two plus one year postdoc position in one of its research groups.
Further measures in the Iris Runge Program include coaching, mentoring, advising and networking activities to promote the career development of female scientists at different career stages.
