How to get to the WIAS
The best way to reach the Weierstrass Institute is to take the Berlin subway. Take the U2 line to Hausvogteiplatz station and follow the signs on the platform (see photo on the right). Once you have left the station at its eastern exit, you will see the main building of the institute after turning right (yellowish facade, see photo above). You then find the entrance on the other side of the building in Mohrenstraße (No. 39). The attendant at the entrance there will be happy to assist you further (including showing you the way to one of the two side buildings if necessary).
Public transport
The easiest way to find your connection with public transport is to visit the website of the Verkehrsverbund Berlin-Brandenburg (VBB).

then continue with any S-Bahn to the west to Alexanderplatz station, from there continue with U-Bahn U2 direction Theodor-Heuss-Platz or Ruhleben to Hausvogteiplatz station (see above)
Airplane
Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER)
take a local train (S-Bahn or normal train) either to railway station Alexanderplatz (best) or Berlin Central Station (Hauptbahnhof), then continue as
described above.
Parking spaces
We would like to point out that the parking situation in the vicinity of the institute is very complicated and cost-intensive.
Information for visitors with mobility restrictions travelling by public transport
Arrival by subway line U2 to station Spittelmarkt:
The elevator is located at the north-western end of the platform (from the direction of Zoologischer Garten / Potsdamer Platz in the back, from the direction of Alexanderplatz in the front) and leads to a park on the Spree channel between Wallstraße and Leipziger Straße. We recommend to use the BVG elevator replacement service as described above. Otherwise, the Weierstrass Institute is about 700m away in a north-westerly direction at the corner of Mohrenstraße and Jerusalemer Straße.
Arrival by subway line U2 or U6 to station Stadtmitte:
U2: The elevator is located at the eastern end of the platform (front from Pankow/Alexanderplatz, rear from Zoologischer Garten / Potsdamer Platz) and leads to a
traffic island in the middle of Friedrichstraße near Leipziger Straße.
U6: The elevator is located at the southern end of the platform (front from Friedrichstraße, rear from Mariendorf) and leads to a traffic island in the middle of
Mohrenstraße near Friedrichstraße.
We recommend to use the BVG elevator replacement service as described above. Otherwise, the Weierstrass Institute is about 600m away in an easterly direction at the junction of Mohrenstraße and Hausvogteiplatz.
Description of the footpath from Hausvogteiplatz underground station especially for blind and visually impaired persons
Take the exit in eastern direction (from direction Zoologischer Garten / Potsdamer Platz in front, from direction Alexanderplatz / Stadtmitte in the back). You are now on the central pedestrian refuge on Hausvogteiplatz. Turn right and continue straight on at the paving edge of the slab and small cobblestone pavement on the middle island, then cross the street surrounding Hausvogteiplatz, turn left and walk a few meters to the corner of Mohrenstraße / Hausvogteiplatz, then turn right into Mohrenstraße. The first entrance on the right is slightly out of the wall. This is the main entrance to the Weierstrass Institute. Please note the step in front of the building and then two more irregular steps in the entrance area. The doorman has further instructions in the building.
