to be filled as soon as possible. The position is funded by the DFG Priority Programme “Variational Methods for Predicting Complex Phenomena in Engineering Structures and Materials” (SPP 2256) within the newly started subproject “Analysis for thermo-mechanical models with internal variables”.

Prerequisites for the position are PhD in mathematics. The successful candidate will have a sound background in applied analysis and experience in the mathematical modeling of continuum mechanics including nonlinear material behavior using modern methods from the calculus of variations. The willingness of interaction with other researchers (mathematicians and engineering) within the SPP 2256 is expected.

The appointment is limited to 2 years and can be extended by a third year. The salary is according to the TvoeD scale.
