PhD Student Position (f/m/d)

in the Research Group

"Numerical Mathematics and Scientific Computing

(Head: Prof. Dr. V. John) starting at the earliest possible date.

The applicant is expected to perform active research in the development, implementation, and numerical analysis of advanced discretizations of partial differential equations, like virtual element methods, hybrid discontinuous Galerkin methods or hybrid high order methods. The applicant should possess a basic knowledge with respect to the analysis of discretizations of partial differential equations, in particular of finite element methods.

A scientific university degree (diploma or master) in mathematics or a closely related discipline is required.

The appointment is limited to 2 years and may be extended. The salary is according to the German TVoeD scale with a working time of 29.25 hours per week.
