“Laser Dynamics”

(Head: Priv.-Doz. Dr. Uwe Bandelow) starting as soon as possible.

The software package LDSL-tool developed at the Weierstrass Institute is a research software that can be applied for simulations and advanced analysis of multi-section edge emitting semiconductor devices. The main duty of the student research assistant is the creation of a new Matlab-based user friendly user interface for this software.

Applicants for the position should have:

·           Two completed university semesters in mathematics or physics (by 31.03.2014),

·           Good knowledge and experience working with Matlab,

·           The ability to work independently.

Background in the fields of laser physics, nonlinear dynamics, semiconductor physics, or programming languages is considered to be an advantage.

The appointment is limited for six months. The salary is 11,24 € per hour. The weekly working time is 10 hours.
