Dr. Katharina Hopf

About me

I am a researcher at the Weierstrass Institute in Berlin, where I currently lead the junior research group "Multi-species Balance Laws" working on multi-component diffusion and cross-diffusion systems with a variational structure.

My research interests, in general, are centred around analytical aspects of nonlinear evolution partial differential equations arising in the natural sciences, including underlying structures, geometries, and singular phenomena.

I completed my PhD in Mathematics at the University of Warwick under the supervision of Professor José L. Rodrigo. Prior to that, I studied Mathematics at the University of Freiburg, where my final thesis was supervised by Professor Dr. E. Kuwert.
