Discrete Atomistic Models and Their Continuum Limits

Location:

The conference site is the Weierstrass Institute for Applied Analysis and Stochastics (WIAS), located in the very center of Berlin near the famous Gendarmenmarkt (map).

The WIAS building is located approximately 80m from the subway station Hausvogteiplatz.

Travel information:

• How to get to the WIAS from the airport Tegel (TXL)
  
  Take the bus line TXL from the airport (the bus starts there) and get off at Staatsoper (15 stops). This takes about 30 minutes. It's then a eight-minute walk to the WIAS. (picture in .eps, picture in .pdf)
   
• How to get to the WIAS from the railway station "Zoologischer Garten"
  
  Take the subway line U2 in the direction Pankow and get off at Hausvogteiplatz (9 stops). This takes about 15 minutes.
   
• How to get to the WIAS from the railway station "Ostbahnhof"
  
  Take the city train lines S3, S5, S7, S9 or S75 in the directions Westkreuz, Spandau or Potsdam and get off at Alexanderplatz (2 stops). Take the subway line U2 in the direction Ruhleben and get of Hausvogteiplatz (4 stops). This takes about 15 minutes.

Metro tickets:

Tickets can be purchased from vendor machines located in every metro station. For participants expecting to use public transport on more than ten occasions in total, we would recommend purchasing a weekly ticket ("7-Tage-Karte"); if not, then we recommend buying single tickets ("Einzelfahrscheine") unless at least three trips are made on any one day, in which case a daily travelcard ("Tageskarte") is the cheaper option for that day.
The standard fare for Berlin is zone Berlin AB. All tickets have to be stamped before first use!
