!!Important information!!

The maximal number of participants has been reached. You may still register, in which case you will be placed on a waiting list. If a spot frees up, we will notify you.

This collaborative workshop at the interface between probability theory and biology operates in a format in which the participants work in groups to formulate and solve open problems. These research questions have a biological motivation and involve randomness or noise. Their study is expected to give rise to new probabilistic objects and innovative mathematical methods as well as biological insights.

It will consist of six working groups led by Louise Fouqueau, Apolline Louvet, Marta dai Pra, Helia Shafigh, Sylvain Billiard, and Felix Hermann.

Please note that there are only 30 places in total. If you register after these have been filled, you will be informed that you are on the waiting list. We will then inform you when a place frees up for you.

The event is in the spirit of Probability meets Biology and Probability meets Biology II, both organised by Matt Roberts at the University of Bath.

The workshop starts Wednesday morning, November 27, and ends on Friday, November 29, in the late afternoon.

The venue of the workshop is the WIAS at Mohrenstraße 39, 10117 Berlin.
Most of the event will take place on the ground floor right next to the entrance.

Getting there

The venue is close to the U-Bahn stations Hausvogteiplatz as well as Stadtmitte, on the U2 line (respectively U2+U6).

An alternative is to use the U5 and walk from Museumsinsel or the many bus lines that also stop close-by.

We have some funding available to support accomodation and travel for junior researchers with limited funding on their own. Please contact us if needed and we can see how to assist you.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact one of the organisers:
