The focus of the workshop is on averaging methods for partial differential equations and multiscale problems arising from the quantum mechanical modeling and simulation of semiconductor nanostructures and their embedding into semiconductor devices.
Main topics are:
many-particle systems · quantum-classical coupling · time averages · quantum hydrodynamics · adiabatic and scaling limits · semiconductor nanostructures · electronic structure calculation · upscaling to semi-classical models
Please register in advance. The on-site registration desk opens Thursday September 22, 2005 at 9am.
The usual financing rules apply for members and guests of the DFG Priority Program 1095 Analysis, Modeling and Simulation of Multiscale Problems.
The workshop will take place from Thursday 9am to Friday 4pm in the Erhard-Schmidt lecture room at the Weierstrass Institute.
The lecture room is equipped with a blackboard, two overhead projectors, and a video projector with a laptop (Windows system).
The participants of the workshop are kindly asked to do their hotel reservation by themselves. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask us.
