TIME DEPENDENT TRANSPORT, GENERALIZED MASTER EQUATION< AND COULOMB INTERACTION
IN QUANTUM NANOSYSTEMS
Andrei Manolescu (Reykjavik University, Island)
The quantum statistical behavior of a mesoscopic sample connected to
macroscopic leads is described by the so called reduced density
operator (RDO) which is obtained by averaging the statistical operator of
the total system over the degrees of freedom corresponding to the leads.
RDO satisfies the generalized master equation which is used to describe
time dependent transport through the sample driven by an electric bias.
The Coulomb interaction between the electrons in the sample is included
with the exact diagonalization method. Several examples of time dependent
charging or discharging of the sample and dynamic Coulomb correlation
effects are discussed.
