Description:
This project aims at a deepened understanding of light-matter interaction in femtosecond filaments. Since optical pulses in filaments can achieve electric fields strengths comparable to atomic ones, non-perturbative models like the time dependent Schrödinger equation and time dependent density functional theory have to be employed. Using these methods, our main objective is an accurate description of light-matter interaction (LMI) at non-perturbative intensity levels, eventually leading to the development of an extendend phenomenological model of LMI in filaments.
