”Laser Dynamics”

(Head: PD Dr. Uwe Bandelow) starting at the earliest possible date.

Precondition is a completed scientific university education in the field of physics or mathematics. Very good English skills and willingness for a research stay in Australia are required.

The candidate should have worked with at least one programming language such as Matlab, Mathematica, C/C++. A proven experience in the fields of optics, nonlinear dynamics, soliton theory and numerical simulations is an advantage.

The successful candidate will work on the theory and applications of solitons in optical fibers. This project is part of a collaboration between WIAS and the Institute of Photonics and Optical Science at the University of Sydney.

The initial appointment is limited for two years and can be extended. The reduced work schedule is 29,25 hours per week, and the salary is according to the German TVoeD scale.
