Workshop random spatial models from physics and biology
16 March - 19 March 2005 at Weierstrass Institute for
Applied Analysis and Stochastics, Berlin
The Dutch-German bilateral research group
on mathematics of random spatial models from physics and biology (co-funded by
DFG and
NWO),
consisting of the groups
of A. Bovier, F. Götze, A. Greven, F. den Hollander
and A. Wakolbinger, will be holding its spring workshop 2005 at WIAS, Berlin,
with financial and logistic support from WIAS.
Thematic emphasis will be on stochastic models related to and
inspired by biology. Topics include
- Spatially structured populations
- Coalescents and random trees
- Branching processes
- Random fitness landscapes
The workshop aims to bring together specialists with expertise
and interest in probability theory and theoretical biology, and to enhance
discussion and interchange of ideas.
