I discuss an inverse problem of determining diffusion and advection coefficients for diffusion of cesium-137 into the soil, which is required for giving a scientific guideline about how deeply we should decontaminate the soils of the fields. We propose a reconstruction method and prove mathematical results such as uniqueness and conditional stability.
