The Weierstrass Institute for Applied Analysis and Stochastics (WIAS) is an institute of the Forschungsverbund Berlin e.V. (FVB). The FVB comprises eight non-university research institutes in Berlin which are funded by the federal and state governments. The research institutes are members of the Leibniz Association.

WIAS invites applications for a

Problems concerning the optimization and the quantification of uncertainties are also of interest. Applicants should be familiar with numerical methods for partial differential equations or optimization or stochastics, in particular with their implementation. They should be willing to participate in a long-standing industrial cooperation with a leading international company. A degree in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field is mandatory. A good command of the English language is expected.
