The Weierstrass Institute for Applied Analysis and Stochastics (WIAS) is an institute of the Forschungsverbund Berlin e.V. (FVB). PhD Student Position

in the Research Group

“Laser Dynamics”

(Head: PD Dr. Uwe Bandelow) starting at 01.01.2015.

The position is associated with the research project “Activity patterns in delay-coupled systems" within the framework of the Collaborative Research Center SFB 910 „Control of self-organizing nonlinear systems: Theoretical methods and concepts of applications“ of the German Research Council. Necessary for employment is a university degree in mathematics or physics.  Moreover, some background in nonlinear dynamics, delay differential equations, or coupled systems is desirable. The applicant is expected to work on a PhD thesis project.

The initial appointment is limited to December, 31, 2016 and can be extended. The reduced work schedule is 29,25 hours per week, and the salary is according to the German TvoeD scale.
