in the Research Group

Nonlinear Optimization and Inverse Problems”

(Head: Prof. Dr. Dietmar Hömberg) starting at the earliest possible date.

Within the project of a third-party funding, the applicant will develop new algorithms for special technical applications and put these into software.

Applicants must at a minimum hold a master’s degree in mathematics, physics or computer science. Applicants with PhDs are welcome. The successful candidate should have profound knowledge on at least two of the fields:

·        Modeling of time-harmonic waves

·        Efficient numerical methods for the solution of Maxwell’s equations

·        Numerical methods of nonlinear optimization and optimal control

The salary is according to the German federal public service tariff. The appointment is limited for two years (at most until June 30, 2017).
